Fees & Insurance
Fees, Insurance and Payment Information
Dr. Charles R. Freeman uses one current fee schedule for all patients. The same fees apply to in-person appointments in San Diego and teletherapy throughout California, including Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Prospective patients can review session fees, insurance and reimbursement, payment, cancellation terms and charges for professional services before deciding whether to begin treatment. A free 15-minute consultation is also available.

Free 15-Minute Consultation
Dr. Freeman offers a free 15-minute consultation. This brief conversation allows a prospective patient to describe what they are seeking, ask practical questions and determine whether the practice may be a good fit.
The consultation is not a full assessment or therapy session.
When Insomnia Is More Than a Sleep Schedule
Some people have already tried sleep-hygiene advice, apps, medication, general psychotherapy or basic behavioral recommendations without enough improvement. Those approaches can be helpful, but persistent insomnia may involve several maintaining factors.
The problem may include conditioned arousal, fear of another bad night, extended time awake in bed, worry about next-day performance, nightmares, trauma reactions, chronic pain or health-related stress.
Not every patient has these concerns. A careful assessment identifies which factors actually matter for the individual.
Session Fees
Current pricing is:
- 1. Free 15-minute consultation: $0
- 2. 30-minute session: $160
- 3. Full 60-minute session: $270

The 10-session package reflects a 10% savings compared with ten individually scheduled 60-minute sessions.
Full 60-Minute Sessions
Dr. Freeman’s standard clinical appointment is a full 60 minutes. Many outpatient psychotherapy practices use appointments of approximately 45 to 50 minutes, so session length is worth considering when comparing fees.
The additional time can support thoughtful discussion, focused clinical work and clear planning without suggesting that a longer session is automatically better for every patient.
